Compare and contrast living in an apartment and in the dormitory

_____My first experience of living outside from my parents has begun since I went to Taipei for study. The first two year of my university life, I'd been lived in the dormitory. But now I've been living in an apartment with my other four classmates. Of course, each one has advantages and disadvantages lying within simultaneously. I think the differences between living in an apartment and in the dormitory are privacy, cost, and environmental hygiene. Living in an apartment has more privacy than living in the dormitory. Usually, one room in the dormitory contains four or five people at most. And it's an open area that every action could be seen in the eyes. So if you need more privacy, an apartment offers more personal space than dormitory. Also, the costs of living in an apartment are definitely more expensive, which include not only the monthly rent but the everyday expenses, such as LNG (liquefied natural gas), eating, and transportation fee. On the campus of NTUST, we students seem to be quite self-contained in some way. We can eat and buy most necessities cheaply without leaving the campus. In contrast with dormitory, things can only be bought with the market prices when living away from campus. At last, as far as the environmental hygiene, dormitory is better than an apartment. In the dormitory, all we have to do with the garbage is to throw them in the garbage cans, and then someone would take them out for us. However, living in an apartment, we have to do it all by ourselves. So personally, I don't know which one to choose from if both of them are available. But I think dormitory is an unique experience that everyone should go through in their lives.
